But your chances of actually making the delivery at all just increased tenfold.

Yeah, I know, that thought crossed my mind but with my 14 counting down and going 30 mph plus wipers getting frozen up and interstate shutdown in a few places I wasn't going to make it much further anyway. Plus the idiots going 60 plus mph were scaring me too.

Last year I ran a gatorade from Wytheville to Mountain top, most of the way was freezing rain,by the time I got to Pa they started to shut down certain interstates.

I was a total mess,I was the only idiot on the road,by the time I hit delivery, my truck was caked in ice, must have been atleast a few inches behind the mirrors.

Now I take a different approach,my life's more important than what's in the box.

Had to cancel my next load due to this issue….but they are paying me to take this back to shipper which also is where I’m picking up tomorrow night. A bad situation turned in a good one for a change.

If the choice is Abilene paying a $150 late fee OR me wrapping my truck around a tree, Abilene can pay the late fee. They're owned by the largest trucking company in America. They'll be okay.

I follow the parent company financials, the last 6 quarters they’ve had net profits in the $2-4 hundred million dollar range, and that’s with elimination of most of Swifts massive debt. So yes, I too don’t worry one bit about the cost of doing business. Now, if they came across with a raise to get us up with the majority of trucking companies, I will change my attitude. Until then, no problem worrying about myself.
