Yep, the sheet show called “Abilene load planning”’ was in rare form today. I got empty yesterday in Baton Rouge with no issues. Got reloaded 7 miles away with no issues, well maybe one. I had to wait longer for the train to move then I did to get loaded.

I had my reload assignment after Baton Rouge also sent. Drop the reload in the WM yard, hook an empty and go to Byhalia and grab a Jacksonville that I was to drop Saturday anytime. I was set up to keep running over the weekend and start my hometime on Tuesday. Nope. Because of the ice storm in WM, eastern TN and northern MS, no one was working. Now I’m sitting at Byhalia at 2pm on a Friday, no load, thumb stuck up my keister waiting on a load assignment. WM said piss on it and never came to work today. I was at the mercy of Richmond. an hour later the QC starts chirping.

Here’s my weekend plan. Bobtail 415 miles to some dealer north of Knoxville and pick up an empty reefer that’s been sitting at this place for 3 weeks. Next, dead head 375 miles to Groveport and pick up a load going to Sanford Florida. It’s all good, the load delivers Tuesday, I’ve been told by dispatch and the distributor to call him when I get the trailer with an eta and he will meet me and unload me. I told him about noon on Monday and he said cool.

So this comes out to 790 dead head miles and 940 loaded miles. I’ll be home Monday afternoon and leave out the following Wednesday after a much needed 10 days off.

I also got a load to Groveport. Picking up in Jarratt in the morning. Hopefully the roads will have thawed a bit by the time I blow through.

Technically not due until 8:00pm Sunday night, but I'll have it there early. Might have it there tomorrow afternoon if the roads allow.

When the weather gets bad in WM area Nan usually has everyone work from home on their laptops. Nan is the terminal manager their now and Richmond has been doing most of the planning for there. Nan only does special request stuff as far as planning goes. Not sure if they are hiring another planner there or not since they moved Nan to the terminal manager position.

Finally got the BH unloaded in Knoxville last night. Have me dropping this reefer in the Atlanta drop lot place and picking up a load out of there going to Sutherland Walmart to drop. Then gotta hang around HQ til body shop opens Monday to see about replacing the corner piece of my bumper that fell off due to that darn bolt coming apart....

This "old man" needs some guidance. I really did not know where to put this but since I usually look at this forum daily, thought this would be a good place to ask this question. I never drove a truck that had to add DEF to. The other day in Knoxille at the Pilot, I tried to purchase some DEF for this Freightliner. Stuck the company fuel card in just like buying fuel. I did not need fuel, only wanted DEF. I followed every step on the message board at the pump, then after pulling the DEF hose out, a message comes up, "unathorized hose, try another hose". So, I move over to another pump, same situation there. Stopped in Wytheville, Va and tried it again, again the same story.

Now, I would certainly appreciate it, if someone here would "walk me through the steps"., from pulling up to the pumps and completing the transaction . I am never too old to learn. Just like the female driver the other day down in Knoxville, she did not know where the DEF tank was at. I have been at this #hit for 59 years, but I am still learning. some one care to teach me???

If you want DEF only when the options show for truck, reefer and both on the right side of the screen look to the left of the screen and you should see skip option, press that and it should go to the def option. Select that and it should work.

But after you select DEF, you then have to push the square DEF button. That's what the hose authorization message was about. He didn't push the square DEF button which authorizes the DEF hose.
