Been here 5.5 years. Three DMs, five trucks.

Apparently I am living a charmed life.

Now the engine brake quit working and not slowing the truck down like it should, thankfully no steep grades I gotta go down cuz Id hate to have to trust this automatic in manual mode to hold the truck down a grade. Wonder what the dealer did to this truck and if Abilene just told them to get the truck road worthy to get it back to the yard....

BTW, for those who may have missed it, Bill Fries, better known as C.W. McCall, singer of the hit song "Convoy", died yesterday at the age of 93.

I listen to the song and I wonder why they went from LA to Jersey via Chicago. Was a different time back then.

Don't have any swindle sheets to tear up in memoriam. Guess I can bang on Edna with my tire thumper as a substitute.

Dropped my Bridgewater load on WM yard then moved into a 21 Volvo and got hooked to a Hill Phoenix load to plant #2 for Monday. First time going to that plant since Ive been employed here. Windshield has a crack in it about 8 inches long so going to stop by the shop after dropping that load, hood latch not working either and hope they don't make me move again if the cable needs replaced since they gotta tear out part of the interior to replace the cable.

On my second tour with Crete I did my pre orientation in Phoenix. Instead of giving me a truck there they rented me a car and had me drive to Bakersfield Calif and recover a truck at the Freightliner dealership. It had been there for three months waiting parts. I get there and the truck had a half eaten pizza on the bunk. More ants that I have ever seen in my life. Took me over three hours just to get it clean enough to put my dog in. Guys at the dealership helped alot. Took it to Lincoln for orientation and dropped it in the yard.
