Well, Mack and Volvo are one in the same basically, but my company just took delivery of a new Mack Anthem a month ago. It was only on the road three days before needing to go back to the Mack dealership for repairs. The front end was so far out of alignment that the driver it was assigned to said that if he let go of the steering wheel, it would #### near take a right turn. With that fixed, the truck developed a major vibration on it's third day in service. Our mechanics think it's something mis-aligned or loose in the driveline and/or components. Mack, of course, says they can't find the problem, and still has the truck while they try to figure out what course of action to take.

Welp, sleep was not in the cards for me tonight. Second night in a row with thunderstorms and tornado warnings and all manner of things preventing a peaceful slumber. Had a real gully-washer come through here about 1:00am, like God Himself was emptying a bucket.
So I am going to take advantage of my wide-awake status and hit the road. There is never a good time to drive through Atlanta, but 2:30am seems to be about as good as it's likely to get.Lonesome, MidWest_MacDaddy, Bumper and 2 others Thank this. -
My plans to make it across Atlanta in a timely fashion have hit a snag:

My Lord, I had the most wonderful day in trucking yesterday. Probably the best since I’ve been employed here the last 9 years.
Woke up in Raphine at Whites. I had 545 miles to delivery last night at an Amazon center for 1800. Drove in the rain most of the day. I stopped in Covington and grabbed a shower. With coffee in hand I was off to my delivery. I planned it perfectly and pulled into this humongous Amazon facility at 1745, checked in and was immediately given a door. I got my reload on my way up to Plainfield. While getting unloaded I looked at all my particulars for my new load. Drop and hook at Dick’s Sporting Goods directly across the street from where I was parked and bring it to the Richmond yard. From the moment I bumped the dock at Amazon, to getting empty, checking out, drive across the street, get checked in, drop and hook, then checked out, it was 59 minutes, for everything. I had 50 minutes left on my 70 and made it to the J in Spiceland where I’m finishing up a reset.
Today is my 9th year anniversary driving here at Abilene. We’ve had our issues, but today I’m thankful. Oh, getting that yearly penny longevity raise is nice too.Last edited: Apr 8, 2022
