You guys can’t go to the dispatch window anymore to get a load? I remember Don being at the window when I worked there. Sometimes he would give me a choice. I used to love going to Belvedere.

During both tours with Crete i never once met one of my dispatchers. I had one ask me to come upstairs to the dispatch center once. After waiting 20 minutes I gave up and left.

It seems about the time Don passed, they drew the blinds and started treating us like red headed step children. Then when Covid started, we went from red headed step children to lepers. Personally, there isn’t a person I want to speak to on the other side of the window.

Halfway felt like a prison, with that and the gate.

If the put that money towards the driver pay, they might get a better class of driver, but that's preaching to the choir I know.

I thought I’d be a nice person yesterday and drop a note to our VP thanking her for putting in my longevity raise. It takes work on her part to get it in the system then down to payroll. No matter what date your hire date falls in the month, it’s put in the system to start the first of the month of your hire date. Here’s the conversation.

“Just looked over my pay voucher and noticed my longevity raise was there. Thank you!”
    FIOJ

“Thank you for all you do!!”

She’s the #2 in charge at the company, but she’s the best DM I’ve ever had. Those days are long gone.

Don was a great guy. Sometimes he would give me Brooklyn though but I couldn’t complain. I did like going to that one place in New Jersey for Sabra though.
