Here in Jarrell, TX, 30 minutes away from the receiver where I am due tomorrow at 6:00am local (so 7:00am on my clock). Was unable to make it here last night, so my plans for a 34 have been torpedoed. Fortunately I got plenty of recap to work with, what with this load leaving 10 hours of my 70 unused. Not getting anything back tonight, so there's a possibility they could run me out tomorrow after my delivery.
Since I knew I wouldn't make it here in time for a 34, I took a pretty leisurely weekend. Drove 7 hours yesterday, drove 5.5 hours today. Took a 16-hour break yesterday, gonna take a 18-hour break tonight. Don't tell JohnBoy. You know how he feels about drivers who take long breaks.
Last night was exciting, btw. This was long about midnight, in Domino, TX:

That was one of those moments where I decided to get fully dressed just in case.
Currently parked at a brand new Roady's. Looks like it has recently opened within the past few months. Everything is shiny and new. Showers are crap, though. They LOOK nice (because they are also shiny and new), but they have very low water pressure and the hot water ran out before I had fully cleansed myself. 1/10. Do not recommend.

Take it if you need it. The ones I mention are the ones that get a wake up call every day from dispatch reminding them that the Hill load or BH loads needs to be delivered as scheduled, not after a 14 hour break. Hell, I took a 12 nap last night.

Anyone do the Savannah to St George Utah load? And if so, what route did you take? I’ll be ending my day in Amarillo tonight. There’s like 6 different ways to go from that point. The longest way by 100 miles is north out of Kingman to Vegas then north on 15.

Looks increasingly like I will be getting a day of layover pay down here in Austin.
Lonesome Thanks this.
