Not a surprise. What the surprise is, is that it took this long.

Got empty in St George Utah yesterday at 0800. Got a deadhead move 356 miles down to Colton to live load a produce load that was due Saturday at 0400 in Washington Courthouse OH. The planner knew I couldn’t do it as scheduled so he had a swap set up for this morning in Las Vegas. The disgusting produce center, as usual, took 9 hours to load me. I was able to get a 10 in, left this morning at 2am after scaling out, and met the team at the Petro in N Las Vegas this morning at 7 am. Swapped and took their load that’s a drop before midnight tomorrow night in Walnut Ca. Sitting in Barstow doing a reset. I’ll drop this trailer tomorrow at 1700. Supposedly, the planner has a fire that needs to be put out after I drop, meanwhile, he’s got a load sitting on the Colton yard with my name on it going back to Richmond. It’s all good, I’m just enjoying this 99 degree temperature. (Not!!)

On a side note, I haven’t spoken to my DM since last Friday. He finally called me this morning to let me know he’ll be out of work for a while, seems as how he and his wife were out for a ride last weekend on their Gold Wing and got hit. He’s banged up a little and his wife has a broken ankle. He said he’ll be working out of the house for a week or two.

I must say, I’ve been very cranky the last 6 months when it comes to this place of employment that I’ve been at the last 9 years. My wife pointed out that it’s because we haven’t been on vacation since we went to Barbados right before the pandemic started. She made a good point. So, while I was home this last time, the plans are in place, along with the itinerary for 3 weeks in Greece and the Greek Isles. Leaving September 7th. I just hope and pray things at least stay the same here and don’t get any worse.

We were suppose to go last year, but the Chinese flu put the halt to that. We are doing the same thing and visiting the same sites we cancelled last year.
