I'm the same way. At a previous employer, they had problems with racks of material. The racks had lots of issues.I work with the racks every day, I figured out several viable solutions.
Presented them to management, got a "thanks, we'll look into it", and that's as far as it ever got. Then when I almost got hurt, because of the rack problems, , and raised hades about it, I got the following response from my shipping manager. "All you do is biotch and complain about things, but you never offer any solutions. I'm tired of hearing about it". My reply? " I offer solutions to every problem I complain about. Because you in management choose not to consider them ain't my problem, FIX THE FRIGGIN RACKS!" My friends still there tell me nothing has changed.....

And the stupidity continues today......couldn't make first pickup yesterday due to planner incompetence having me go in circles....first pickup is 45 minutes south of Grand Junction, CO. I parked at the Loves in Grand Junction for the day. I got up 0600 to get my pti, fuel and breakfast done so Id be on tge road 0700 cuz the place opens at 0800 and is first come first serve all day. DM calls me 0630 cuz the planner saw I wasn't moving yet and was freaking out I wasn't going to make the second pickup at the convention center at 1545 this afternoon. I wasn't moving yet because the AG place is small and I didn't want to get there til 745 at earliest. I don't need to be told when to wake up and move my truck nor when to park it. I know we got drivers here that need coddled like that but Im not one of them. DM calls again 0645 saying planner wants me to go to Aurora first......you want me to drive 4 hours east sit for 4 hrs cuz it won't be ready til 1545 then 4 hours back west again only to go east again? DM messages planner again and he replies back he will cancel the first stop cuz he and the account manager were both fear mongering that I wouldn't make it to Aurora on time if I went to first pickup first.....I had it all planned out and would have been fine but their fear mongering won out so load was changed and only the convention load now. Only thing was they only put empty miles from Vail to Grand Junction and didn't include from Grand Junction to Aurora. I called my terminal manager and had her fix the empty miles so it was the proper 407 miles it should be and not the 127 it was, Im not working for free....load don't deliver til the 5th, watch them biotch cuz I won't sit on it til the 5th, lol! They better come up with a place to split this load Friday or Sat., Im not baby sitting stuff.....

 

LoL! Now they resent it and put the AG place back on so I gotta go back west again after the convention load and pickup the seed load then go back east to drop on the yard in Richmond Sat.

 

I myself have zero patience for this kind of BS. You all have stuck around exponentially longer than I would have.

 

It helps that they pay us for all those wild goose chase miles as long as we remind them to add in the appropriate route points.
