"The Tyranny of The Bottom Line" A book written by Ralph Estes professor of business at American University, several years ago. Well worth the time and expense. An eye-opener. When the "myth" of Capitalism and Free Market is revealed, "Socialism" for the corporations and wealthy becomes very obvious.

Sitting at Whites in Raphine, 38 miles to my drop tomorrow morning. Then a deadhead to the yard to pick up a loaded trailer to deliver 7pm Monday night in West Palm Beach. I’ll be home about noon Monday. I have an MRI scheduled for 3pm Monday, and 2 medical procedures that are being done Tuesday and Wednesday. I’ll be off until a week from Monday. Trust me, this was not accomplished by any help from operations, in fact, it was pretty ugly since Tuesday. I’ll save it for when I get home. Suffice to say, I’m not a happy camper.

Got deadheaded back to Groveport after my Knoxville unload. Then delivered a BH to Jacksonville this morning. My next load picks up at the Cycle up place going to Ardmore, OK. Can't pick up til tomorrow though since stupid me ripped a mudflap off the trailer backing into the BH place this morning. Trailer has the brackets mounted on a spring mechanism so the whole thing bounces going down the road. Darn thing got caught under the tandems due to that spring system being down. Put the left tandems in the divot on the corner of the driveway to have room to not hit the telephone pole out front. If the flap was fixed and not on that spring bracket it would have been fine. TA in Brunswick can't pull me in til 1400, got swamped I guess.

My two weeks off turned into three weeks off. Seems that my request for a week of paid vacation last Christmas was never actually put into the system. So instead of having only one week of paid vacation time left, I actually had two weeks. Plus the seven days of normal hometime I had earned for staying out on the road a full six weeks. And since the paid vacation needed to be used by my hire date anniversary of August 15th (i.e. a week from today), I told 'em to go ahead and tack that extra week of paid vacation onto the two weeks I was already taking off.

My DM called me on Friday to set me up with a load for when I got back in the truck. A Hill-Phoenix load going to Perry, OK. Now we get to see if I still remember how to drive this thing after 21 days off.
