Note to self, in my second life, never work for a mega. 3 hours for an approval from Knight Breakdown to replace all the brake shoes and 2 cracked drums. This is the type of sh&t I get for doing my job that others failed to do. This trailer was out if inspection on July 31st. God only knows how many times it has been touched since then, but hey, let me act like a professional and take care of this train wreck. Finally called the big cheese in Richmond and got the approval in 3 minutes time. Piss on Phoenix.

    Update…….

would you believe these hatasses wanted me to bring the old parts back? I asked the breakdown chick where she wants me to put them. She said in the trailer. I said that’s not going to happen because the trailer is being dropped 12 miles up the road in Toledo Ohio and the shipper wouldn’t appreciate 8 trailer brake pads, springs and 3 brake drums. Then she said I needed to bring them back so I would have to put them in my truck. I then asked her where am I bringing them back to, because I have no problem bringing them to Phoenix and unloading all the parts on your desk. After a few rounds of getting nowhere, I hung up on her and called Richmond who asked me if I was kidding. I told them my head is about to explode and I’m really not in a kidding mood. Needless to say, the parts are being left behind. And I’m hoping she calls me back.

Do you park overnight on that little strip of abandoned road in front of Sysco? I have always been nervous about getting a ticket there, so I have never done it. But this past Tuesday when I rolled in at 7:30am, there were several trucks lined up who had clearly parked overnight. Including an Abilene truck.

I had a used tractor tire in the trailer once and the shipper never said anything. I know it’s not the same, but still interesting.

Over the New Year’s holiday of this year, I felt like I had a hangover, but without anything to drink strangely.

That monday when I went to work I was feeling absolutely terrible. It was that “run over by a truck” feeling of a cold. On top of that, a snowstorm was moving in. When there’s a snowstorm coming and I’m just leaving the yard that’s usually a recipe for disaster, and that day was. I had 16 deliveries, went to 8 of them, and of those I only got one off because the rest were all closed or would have meant getting towed out.

A few days later after acquiring some further information, I put two and two together and found out what I had was the omicron strain of covid.

That was a day I hope I never have to repeat.

So after spending 6+ hours in the shop at the Petro in Stoney Ridge Ohio yesterday, I was finally sent on my way. I will say this, the shop there and the workmanship was top shelf. The fools I had to deal with all day were just the reason why this industry sucks. Anyway, todays a new day. Got a 13 hour nap in, showered and fed, West Memphis this evening.

I left the shop at 6pm, drove 14 miles to Pitt Ohio trucking company, got my loaded trailer and left. I have to say this, the 2 young ladies in the dispatch office were just as sweet and pleasant as can be. On top of that, I could of stayed there all night and just looked at them. Amazing how some people show up in your life and just have the uncanny ability to take your mind off the BS of the day. That was these two.

Judt leaving the Petro in New Baltimore Ohio. The West Memphis rathole will be graced with my presence about 7pm tonight. Drop and hook and head to Jacksonville for Monday morning. Then home for a week.
