Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

This week's a bust,2hr shop job turning into a 3 day affair.

 

Was able to make it to Volpi but 14 ran out while there so had to PC out. Long 15 hour day….Thankfully home time coming up this week.

 

Seems to be a stretch of bad luck for everybody.

Stopped at the rest area on I-40W between Cookeville and Gordonsville, and noticed that my air gauges were low. Tapped the brakes a few times, and got a warning alert. Got out of the truck, heard hissing coming from underneath the cab.

Called breakdown, they sent out a truck, and that was 5 hours ago and the truck just left to go back to the shop for the 2nd time. Seems the hose that connects the compressor to the reservoirs sprung a leak, and the replacement they brought doesn't fit. So at this point I'll just be pitching up here for the night and hitting the road at 3:00am to make on-time delivery in Pine Bluff.

Welp, they had me working this Thanksgiving. Put in almost my full 11 yesterday, put in 8-and-a-half today. After I got up at 3:00am to make a 10:00am delivery in Pine Bluff, they had me drop my empty at West Memphis and then bobtail over to Forrest City to pick up a reefer going to New Castle. Pulled into the TA in Earle yesterday afternoon with about 10 minutes left of drive time. Got up this morning and completed the journey to New Castle, and had Indian food for Thanksgiving.
