So, even I can miscalculate an event. I had a nice peaceful reset here at the Loves in Troy Texas, went over the truck and trailer with a fine tooth comb yesterday. Figured I’d get up at 0500 to shower, and boom, an hour wait for a shower.

I’m 60 miles from delivery, then 115 miles to my pick up, and timing will be tight the rest of the week on my way back to Richmond. Oh well, shower after I’m done today. Which I don’t normally do. I’m the “get up early and start my day with a shower” type of driver. Don’t like showering at the end of my day. Can never get to sleep. Such issues we go through. Lol.

In 1978, I wasn’t in somebody’s mind yet. I was born nine years later.

    1978….
I was 12. My Dad was a fireman. His dept. did a trip to Yankee Stadium. Growing up in Northern NJ, I was suppose to be a Yankee fan or Mets fan… but I was a catcher in little league and idolized Carleton Fisk, the Red Sox catcher. I was a Red Sox fan.
We were at the last game of the season. Yankees vs Cleveland. Cleveland won 9-2 and led to the Yankees and Red Sox tying for the division…
I was proudly wearing my Boston Red Sox batting helmet. The ENTIRE stadium started chanting ‘BOSTON SUCKS! BOSTON SUCKS! Over and over and over.
My father, whom I had never heard say the ‘f’ word…. Leaned over to me and said ‘Put that f****** helmet under your shirt and head for the exit!’
    Great memory. Thanks John

That was the year the Sox and Yanks met in a single game to see you would go to the play offs….1978..
Bucky F’ing Dent hit the homer to win…

June of ‘69. The old man took me and my brother to our first Yankee game. Mickey Mantle’s retirement speech. Been a diehard Yankee fan ever since.
