Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Saw an Abilene freightliner Cascadia southbound on 95. Just passed mile marker number 191 at around 532 this evening. Was it any of you guys?

 

That wheeling place is definitely an interesting place to get into and out of with a big truck. I did the same thing you did and had to blind side into the docks too and the two guys that helped me get in asked me why I didn’t come in from 39th street so I could have sight side backed. I thought that street was one way but apparently not.

 

I watched a couple of daycabs take that corner on 39th and it was enough to convince me to not go that way when I left. That corner is tighter than it looks, as evidenced by the fact that the curb and sidewalk on the outside of that turn is mostly a pile of rubble.

 

Load of hay delivered this morning without a hitch thankfully. In and out quick this time around. Next load is a convention load picking up in Tulare, Ca at the AG expo place tomorrow morning going to Havre De Grace, Md for next Friday. DM said they might split me somewhere though. Pick it up and do a 34 then head out Sunday. Supposed to be only one skid, hopefully the wind behaves itself across 40.

 

That farm and ag show complex was a close quarters nightmare and total fuster cluck to get around in. Might not have been as bad if all the pickups weren’t parked on the ends of the streets in there so a semi couldn’t swing wide if needed and the RGN drivers unhooking there trailers on the ends too to load farm equipment. Got lost too because I wasn’t given specific enough instructions to find the booth, thankfully they had big maps that were marked where to find everything at aid stations. Got my pallet loaded finally though. Got a little breezy across Tehachapi on my way back east. Going to have to monitor the wind across 40 with a practically empty trailer. Scales were open this morning on 58 on the way over to the show complex and I went across the empty lane since I was empty and the Haji behind me followed me with a loaded trailer and got caught, guessing he couldn’t read the signs and was playing follow the leader.

 

4000 miles,been a good week.

Currently in Ontario,taking a reset,have me deliving a local before the birds pull there britches up Monday.
