I don’t know where y’all are in this wide world today, but let me tell ya, the wind and dust here in Lubbock TX ain’t no joke. I almost got sideswiped by a CRST truck when a large gust hit us both on the left side. 20 minutes later going around a curve, another gust almost pushed me off the road completely. I took that as God telling me, “Look, there are almost no trucks on the road and it’s time for you to call it as well.” Let the fools try and giddy on up the road. I’ll park til the wee hours when the wind is supposed to be calmer. Y’all be safe.

They decided they wanted to load more stuff on my trailer with the one convention pallet to make it more full in OK City tomorrow morning. Only problem is I can’t make any of the turns on the streets to get to this place without tearing street signs down or the streets are at sharp angles, at least all the ways my truck gps is trying to send me. Even if I made it to the small place it is one way in and another out. Problem with getting out is coming out of the docks gotta make sharp right and looks like hardly any room to swing out without taking a piece of the building with you. Should be a fun convo in the morning with my DM. I don’t even want to hear the dreaded words “we get trucks here all the time.”

The place I’m delivering at uses only straight trucks…it took every square inch of real estate to just get in the driveway and still hopped the curb with trailer…some of these places injust shake my head..
Grouch and jarhead0311 Thank this. -
Freight continues to be super light out of Richmond. Got back today from hometime, rolled in around 9:00am, only one load leaving Richmond today, and it won't be here until 3:30pm at the earliest. And it delivers in Delaware tomorrow at 2:00pm, which is a whole lotta sitting around twiddling my thumbs and not a whole lotta miles.
Opted instead for a HP load with twice the miles that leaves out in the morning (I hope -- my last few HP pre-plans have fallen through).Lonesome and jarhead0311 Thank this. -
That was an interesting place to get to and in and out of this morning in OK City. Had to ditch my gps and navigate with google earth to get there. Had to drive down the wrong side of the of the streets to make turns and so as to not hit or run stuff over. Got there and had to play tetris with the trailer to get into and out of the dock to get around the back of the building so as to not take a piece of the building with me. Had to go a different way out since construction had the main street closed and the turns too tight on detours set up. Got almost to the AR state line and the UPS truck with doubles in front of me lost a lugnut on his dolly or rear trailer and cracked the bottom of my windshield. Good thing Im headed the WM yard, sent a pic in to AJ to see if they can replace my windshield tomorrow.
Lonesome and CalculatedRisk Thank this. -
@jarhead0311
