I’m almost positive now that the Abilene prior to 04/19/2018 is history. It’s a shame. This use to be a pretty good run ship.

I may just start poking around a bit elsewhere if we really aren’t going west anymore, hate running east coast and really hate everything north of VA in particular and hate short haul loads too. Id like to go back to tanks. Ill wait and see how stuff pans out here being I like being able to bobtail home from Wytheville, main reason I came here.

I've only been out to the west coast twice in the past 12 months. Just got back from a trip to Kansas City, and that's the furthest west I've been since September. Mostly, they keep me in the midwest, or the northeast, or Atlanta. So at least in that respect, doesn't sound like much will change on my end.

So in essence, it looks like they’re going to keep the customers with the freight that goes to the west. They’re just gonna broker them out to rag carriers where they’ll still make their big bucks and the drivers eventually start taking hits because of too many short hops, which inevitably will have many delays depressing on area costing the driver money but again upper management care less… Some of these executives must live by the motto…… If it’s not broke, fix it till it is

Trick I used when checking trailers backed into docks was the camera on my phone. There was usually enough room to squeeze my hand between the dockplate or the cushions on the side and take a picture of the inside of the trailer.

Just don't drop your phone inside the trailer or you are going to be moving it anyway.

Lol. Exactly what I did, then had to move the trailer just to get the phone.

Better careful saying things like that out loud. You have the crowd, usually desk drivers, who like to preach about how “if you don’t like the short runs then you don’t like to work”.

Yep, just took a little longer. The ultimate demise is inevitable.
