Sitting here laughing to myself cuz the shop said they weren’t fixing or bringing anyone else in until my truck was done. They just pulled three more trucks up ahead of me….kind of childish to play games and “punish” a driver cuz the company isn’t paying the rates the shop wants for parts and labor.
Lonesome Thanks this. -
Just like anything else, we are expendable. I’m sitting at the Richmond yard finishing a reset, call in this afternoon for a load, and was told the only thing they have is a Hill load that loads Sunday and delivers Tuesday in Florida. Told them no, and at noon tomorrow they need to have me something that will not cause me to babysit freight, if not, I’ll be home at midnight tomorrow night and they can call me to come back when they have better freight. Meanwhile, not counting the trucks being traded off, there’s got to be 100+ trucks sitting in this yard, and 5 new hires finishing orientation. Wonder what loads they’ll get.Lonesome, Rugerfan and jarhead0311 Thank this.

Im betting somebody higher up is going to get involved tomorrow once I tell my DM Im not fixed yet tomorrow morning when he calls to ask me.

If it’s work that’s covered by warranty, you are the last priority. Shops hate warranty work.

Yeah, I kinda figured it was something along those lines of not getting paid what they want parts and all to replace my air compressor. Knight shipped their own parts here overnight Wed and arrived yesterday morning.
-
Interesting, why would that be the case? Does it take a long time for a shop to get reimbursed for warranty work, or is it the lost opportunity to "find" issues on a truck?
-
Because the mechanics generally get paid less hourly rate for a warranty work then they do non-warranty work… That’s why shops hate warranty workMACK E-6, runningman0661 and CalculatedRisk Thank this.

Thanks

Looking for other work is frowned upon while the truck is undergoing warranty repairs.
