Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

I’m familiar with the pods, but the dealership decided on crap pallets to put them on. Which made it even worse to try and load with my jack.

I know at least one pallet broke when of our dock guys loaded it that evening after I got back. I left right after so I’m not sure how they picked it up. I would rather have seen a pod used, but since I’m a driver I wouldn’t know that.

 

Apparently nobody is in the office today cuz nobody answering phones. Got an electrical issue with my fuel injection system and think it is related to the air compressor being replaced. There is a wire harness in that area. Truck shaking and lost engine power and not pulling worth a darn. Almost stalled backing into a spot on the WM yard. Sent breakdown macro and a free form to cover my butt. Notified the broker and she is notifying the receiver the load may not make it tomorrow if nobody can repower it. Heavy load of mozzarella cheese.

 

can you guys call Swift direct? I would think a big parent company would have an emergency number for somebody at Dispatch.

 

Yeah I noticed that to,was trying to call in all day.

 

Got the minor stuff fixed today and the fuel injection issue supposed to be fixed tomorrow. Some kind of valve needs replaced and it is a three hour job. Another day of breakdown pay. Got me running a local load to Nashville tomorrow in a loaner truck and deadhead back to get my truck back. With all the parts replaced on my truck Im darn near halfway to having had an in-frame done, lol! My load of mozzarella cheese was repowered.

 

Got a short Gatorade run from Wytheville to Mansfield, OH. Due tomorrow at 8:00am, and it's only a six-hour drive. BUT! I was informed that if I got there before 1:00pm, they'd unload me today. Sounds awesome. Get there before 1:00pm, get unloaded, (hopefully) get another load assignment to keep rolling, badda bing, badda boom.

Trailer was scheduled to be loaded in the small hours of the morning, and I got my happy a.$$ up an hour earlier than usual in order to give myself some buffer so that I could make it to the receiver before 1:00pm. Goal was to be out of Gatorade and heading to Ohio before 6:00am.

Got here and discovered that the trailer wasn't loaded. Hadn't even started loading it. So now I am a live load, and that will take enough time that I will not be able to make it to Mansfield before 1:00pm.

Cue sad trombone.

 

They keep moving ppl around creating titles here. Chris Nycum is now the interim terminal manager of WM and Nan is now the Volvo Coordinator.
