Yeah, only a meager 19 yrs Ive been around this industry driving, lol! I always respected you guys that have been around for decades and still are and the knowledge y’all have to share. I can only imagine you guys are maybe even more fed up than I am cuz you have seen more downfall than me and were around when the job was great and we were actually respected.

I posted it in our private Facebook page last night. It looks as though it got hit with a Tomahawk Cruise Missle.

Dropped my york load on the wytheville yard then grabbed a gatorade to Norfolk. Get to the gate this morning and guardshack points towards end of the street. I go down thinking there is another entrance but the street dead ends into three other businesses. Turn around in the cul de sac and sit on the side of the street confused so I walk up to the gate and and ask what am I supposed to do? They were trying to say park on the street and walk up so they can verify my appt time because drivers keep getting told wrong times to show up. Fortunately my appt really was for 0900. Supposed to go back to the yard and look at a couple 22 volvo’s sitting there empty. Only way I was staying in this owner op truck was if they put a new hood on. Guarantee George would tell me to move out anyway cuz they would have to order one and paint it and what not.

You missed my age by 8 years and I am financially able, been in that position for several years, but I find myself between a rock and a hard place. Do I quit and sit at home and die or do I keep busy doing the only trade that I know?? I have seen some very close friends retire and do nothing but sit at home, you know how long they lived?? Not long! I tried retirement, it is for the birds!! I keep driving because I am still blessed with good health and I am not sitting at home . During my years of driving, I never took up a hobby, never had time to hunt or fish, had to work and raise a family. I became "addicted to the grind"
