Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Nah, I ain't losing anything. For the kinds of minor repairs we're talking about, it's pretty easy to arrange my affairs so that those repairs take place during the times when I wouldn't be rolling anyways. Such as being parked for the day, or during my hometime.

 

Got up this morning at 5:00am. Was on the road by 5:20am.

Just bumped a dock at 7:00pm to get loaded.

 

And now, finally parked for the night at 10:30pm.

Four hours in the receiver's dock this morning, three hours in the shipper's dock tonight. And 351 miles to show for my 17-hour day.

I had to double check with my DM when I got the load. Load assignment said to set the reefer at 80F. But nope, that's exactly what they want. I am apparently hauling a trailer full of tortilla chips.

 

A union butcher makes decent money id bet....

 

Was scheduled to come out of the house tomorrow. I thought long and hard about it, all of 3 minutes. Called in this morning and told them I’ll be coming out on Monday. The biggest issue about getting a full pay period off? No paycheck next week and the following week is double deductions. Ask me if I care.

Finished a 34 on the hq yard yesterday then jarratt to groveport and now bh to greenville. Hopefully planned before end of the day so don’t gotta wait 5 hrs tomorrow before get planned.
