Well, my load to Edmonton has changed somewhat. Because some of the freight was delayed from the shipper I never was able to leave Friday. It finally was loaded at 8:30 last night. Because of the delay it was turned into a true team load. So, my buddy Brian, bman20 who was just getting back from Quebec, and I decided to team the load together. It's a 2800 mile trip that needs to be done Wednesday. After hooking up the trailer last night we find the inspection sticker was expired, at that point I decided to finish my reset and get the trailer inspected. That was completed at 6am then we left. Our plan is to do this turn and be back by Saturday night so we both can finish the year off right.

This will be at a minimum a 5600 mile turn. I'm just glad I can do it as a team instead of as a trainer. Brian started out this morning, I'll take over later today. This will be, I'm sure a very enjoyable turn.

that sounds like a good time
I am a dangerous criminal not allowed in Canada because of DUI's in 82 and 86
havent had a drink since 2001 but Canada is safe from my impending relapse
It is good Abilene can change on the fly like that especially on the weekend
that would have confused TransAm to the point load would have been cancelled

One saturday afternoon 5 transAm trucks were at sapp bros in peru Ill
4 of them heading to NJ for Mon while I was heading to NY for Monday
I called dispatch suggested I swap with any of those 4 loads because I was going home afterwards
the swap with me would have gained 100 miles and i would have not head 300 miles dead head home
but that was too much like normal thinking................sigh

Congrats JB on the team situation. Hopefully you finish off the holidays with nothing but good luck. That goes to all drivers as well. Stay safe and do not get into any accidents.

Well after a good nights rest, a day of watching football and playing with my kids, I feel better. Tim's cookies are baked, thanks to mommy6, cuz after all sometimes you do have to look out for the dispatcher, especially when the dispatcher or FM or whatever he is makes it his mission to look out for the driver. My load delivers in Bedford, PA tomorrow at 7 PM, about 2 hours from the house. Im thinking deliver and maybe back home for a late dinner date woth the wife. Just have to see what happens along the way. As for the training, I think I just need to step back and breathe. Personalities are going to clash, but if I have to be hard on this guy just to make him realise I'm in charge, than so be it. I dont want it to be that way, but stuff happens.

JB, be safe next breakfast/lunch is on me.

Eric, don't worry about the breakfast, the friendship far outweighs it.

After getting our trailer inspected and serviced at 6am yesterday morning in Richmond, we pulled out at exactly 6:45 yesterday morning with 1745 miles to our first drop in Dickinson ND, exactly 24 hours later we are 1425 miles into our trip, 315 miles to go. ####, we be truckin.
