Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Got the truck fixed today,and was told to get with short haul,that's how bad it is folks,5 new drivers at the yard today.

 

Abilene came through,gotta take a local run to Chesapeake in the am,and after I get unloaded pu that Kentwood,Mi load for Thursday.

 

Just like buying a car..."well, the sales manager here today really likes me, so you will get a better deal".....

 

Guess it is my turn to sit. Can’t believe there is nothing here. Nothing offered so two days layover pay so far.

 

Finally got a load of auto parts to Indy today. Due 0530 tomorrow but won’t make it until 0700 due to car accidents and a member of the flip flop mafia rolling his truck over in Indiana in the rain cuz his tires were darn near bald, my guess from looking at his tires while creeping by. As much as I complain about stuff here, payroll came through today and deposited my vacation pay that my terminal manager forgot to put in for last week. My pay always shows up Thursday and only got my mileage pay. Got the NM/AZ BH run next, don’t pick up until 2300 tomorrow night so more layover/detention pay which compensates for one load this week since home time ended.

 

Dropped in Michigan,than deadheaded to Toledo,and dropped my empty,now deadheading to Groveport for a 2 stopper to Dallas.

 

Thankfully that O’Reilly warehouse was FCFS. Unloaded in 15 minutes after they started.

 

At this can opener of a Ta in Rockwall,Tx ,truck was screaming at me not to pull in.
