Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Grabbed a load from Volvo Byhalia. It's one of those loads to York, PA that requires you to sign a phone book's worth of bills. Since the last time I had to sign for one of those loads, they started handing out little pieces of carbon paper, thus allowing me to sign two bills at once. Talk about progress! I joked with the lady behind the counter that there had to be drivers who had no idea what the little black paper was, nor why she was handing it to them. She confirmed that it happens all the time, and she had to explain what it was and how to use it as recently as yesterday.

I'll be dropping it on the Wytheville yard bright and early tomorrow morning, and will then seek out a load heading back to Richmond. And then it's time to say goodbye to this KW.

 

At least I was able to get some tacos and get my truck washed today in spite of everything else not going as I planned today. Wheels shined up petty evenly too after getting all the black grime off when they replaced all the tires, thinking they were used as inside wheels before.

 

Dropped up here in Mt Crawford,and pu a new reefer trailer that has a hole in the side wall,gotta redtag and drop on the yard in morning. Asked my dm what freight looks like around the yard,and he said same old story,so I already know what that means.

 

And yet I see Facebook posts about let’s welcome these new drivers to the family twice a week. No loads, but let’s keep hiring folks. Makes perfect sense.

 

I'm not pointing fingers but I think it's forklift damage,there's no visible damage to the outside around the gash,and the slit is about the size of a fork.

 

Dropped empty on yard picked up million mile jacket,headed to Petersburg up to Groveport,life's good.

 

Lol,it's actually nice made by Carhartt,I don't really wear jackets but atleast my closet will have something to be jealous of lol.
