When I dropped my empty reefer in Groveport yesterday, I was unable to slide the tandems. They were initially going to refuse me at the gate, but phone calls were made and I was allowed to drop it on their yard with the firm promise that I would call someone to come fix it. Grabbed the loaded trailer and delivered to Nashville this morning.
Subsequent instructions were to drop the empty reefer at BH Forrest City and pick up a load going to New Castle. Did so and discovered that the loaded trailer had an expired inspection (2nd trailer in 3 days I've picked up that had an expired inspection) and also couldn't slide the tandems (2nd trailer in two days).
So I schelpped back to the West Memphis yard, where they updated the inspection but couldn't get the tandems to slide. Initially, we thought that somehow my truck was the culprit. However, they hooked a yard truck up to it and had the same problems. So it does look like it's localized to the trailer.
By the time we figured all of that out, it was 5:00pm local and the mechanics went home. They're going to resume working on it tomorrow morning. Dunno when the load will arrive at New Castle, but it will not be 7:00am tomorrow as specified on the load assignment.

Get my reload early this morning after reset was up but didn’t pick up until 1400. Load of doors to SC. Was one guy in front of me. Knight driver shows up and guess it is a drop and hook for them but doors were full. Guy in front of me pulls out then I pull up to back into the door to get loaded and knight driver got pissed and took off, guess he refused to drop empty then pull loaded out then drop it then hook empty and put in the door, my guess anyway as to why he took off in a fit of rage.

Got to the hill outside Kingman around mm82ish and there is a dude walking down the hill in the middle of the interstate with an old weathered 2x4 and he starts walking towards my truck then holds the 2x4 up like he was going to swing at my truck and I got a little startled and uttered get behind me satan in latin and the dude immediately walked to the median and down the hill. Looked like an illegal immigrant from South America. Hopefully the state police got a hold of him before he could hurt or carjack anyone.
