The biggest con is that they don't pay breakdown if you're near one of our terminals, since the theory is that you can take a loaner and keep driving. Which is why I try to breakdown away from the terminal whenever possible.
Wasn't far enough away this go around.motocross25, Lonesome, jarhead0311 and 3 others Thank this. -
Ah that makes sense now… lol. I had a heck of time getting paid breakdown when the Richmond shop put my truck out of service during a pm( forward imager malfunction, still isn’t fixed after I checked in 3 times now). Never got told since I had an opportunity to take a loaner I wouldn’t get paid.jarhead0311, Bumper and ExtremeUnction Thank this. -
Ended up putting truck in the shop Thursday being check engine light came on and somebody else took the short hop to Hillsborough, NC. They said it is the code from idling the truck, engine still doesn’t sound right to me but oh well. Got deadheaded to Wytheville yesterday for gatorade to Lugoff, SC then bounced back to Wytheville for gatorade to Byhalia which Ill drop today then grab a short gatorade back out to Maumelle, AR for Monday live unload. Will swueeze a 34 in this weekend before delivering Monday morning then said they will lay me over til Tuesday for a Reno for Friday drop. Will see how that pans out. Love it though when I get planned out in advance like this though, wish I could be planned like this every week.

Get pass El Reno Ok and my driver side door window shattered all of a sudden, twice that has happened to me now, lol! I think something flew out of the bed of the pickup truck that passed me when it happened and hit the window just right. Breakdown sent me to the Volvo dealer to fix it in Oklahoma City and they found some recalls needed doing too. 8 hrs later I finally got let go. Thankful the service guy was nice enough to do so being they aren’t supposed to without stuff being paid for. PO number was taking the longest to come through. They wanted to fix the check engine light but wasn’t authorized. Our shop says it is from idling, dealer says it is an egr code. I know because I looked the code up myself but our shop apparently thinks nothing needs fixed, at least until it becomes a bigger problem or could just be laziness being Richmond does get a lot of new techs that are just plug the computer in types. Was going to get to Reno Friday but it will be Saturday now. Ill end the trip Saturday even though they aren’t open so I get a check next week. Hopefully I get some breakdown pay, won’t hold my breath though, lol!

Well now, seems like the trucking gods aren’t being to kind to the folks in Phoenix. All one needs to do is read between the lines. Love the part where it says ”asset utilization”. Does that mean putting equipment in a different area with no freight or cheap rates? My suggestion would be to get rid of the management people in Phoenix and Richmond that are only taking up space to collect a paycheck.
