You don't get breakdown pay if you're at one of our terminals, because they can assign you a loaner from the terminal.

Technically, they have to offer you a loaner and you have to refuse before they deny your breakdown pay. So if nobody at the terminal offers you a loaner, then technically they still owe you breakdown pay. However, you'll have to rattle the cage a little bit to get it, because the default is to not pay you.

This is why it pays to break down somewhere on the road.

    Also: Welcome!

Appreciate the info, yeah I’ve noticed the default is to not pay breakdown/layover/ detention, already had a few situations.

Get out the shop Thursday finally and get moving again Friday and truck breaks again today. At the Knight yard in Columbus waiting for shop to open tomorrow morning. Check engine light with stop the truck and regen message but truck won’t regen, soot level critically high. Don’t know what our shop did but made it worse than the truck was before. Truck was running fine and regenerating normally even though the MIL was on. Wipers went on me too and motor needs replaced and breakdown said that it was a recall issue on newer Volvos manufactured recently. The government needs sued for all these problems they caused by the emissions systems they insisted trucks have that really isn’t needed.

These admissions systems are absolutely the worst pieces of garbage they ever implemented and frankly, they shoved them down everybody’s throat

Well, after running tests and programming this morning, Knight shop says they gotta replace the egr control valve and run a couple forced regens. Part ordered and they said they got the wiper motor in stock already. Hopefully Volvo has the control valve in stock so my truck is fixed this afternoon. DM found someone to cover this Michigan load. This new truck has been a nightmare lately….

Yeah, they put that on me Friday morning to grab off Wytheville yard after Sam’s Club run to Md. Unfortunately I made it as far as Columbus, OH with it yesterday with my truck acting up worse than it was last week and had to drop it on the Knight yard to get my truck fixed again.
