They were not able to reschedule my delivery yesterday, so I rolled in to the receiver at 20:00, an hour early. Didn't get unloaded until after 23:00.
While I was waiting, I got two preloads. Get live-loaded in Kutztown on Friday (today) and take it to the WalMart DC in Wintersville for a live unload Saturday (tomorrow), then teleport myself and the truck backwards through time to get live-loaded in Wintersville on Friday (today) and deliver it in York on Saturday (tomorrow).
I called my DM to express my confusion.
I was assured that, even though everything said it was a live load/unload, it was all drops and hooks except for the final York delivery. And everything should be ready today.
It all sounded very fishy to me, but I went to Kutztown and there was indeed a pre-loaded Swift trailer waiting for me. Light load, just one pallet of Ocean Spray fruity drinks. Guess it was overage that had to be taken off another trailer to make weight.
Arrived at Wintersville and...they have no idea about the load. It's not anywhere in their system. Not today, not tomorrow. So they refused delivery.
So now I'm sitting at the Qwik-Mart up the road, lamenting the loss of the King's Family Restaurant that used to be here. It's been a while since I've been here. Apparently it closed a few years ago.
Called HQ as soon as I got here, explained the situation, was told "We'll get you sorted".
I have not been sorted. So apparently this is going to become a problem for the weekend load planner tomorrow.
Sure hope they rescheduled that second load, but I'm guessing they didn't.Rugerfan, Finfn1372, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this. -

Still sitting here at the Quik Mart. Called this morning to try and get a resolution. Talked to someone who sounded like I'd just woke them up from a nap. They did not seem super interested in my situation, and did not inspire me with confidence that they would leave no stone unturned seeking a solution. They said they'd send an email to Swift, and that was it, and we'll call you when we find out anything.
Called back a bit ago and got ahold of Rob, the weekend load planner. Rob is a man who knows what's up, and he is the kind of person to leave no stone unturned seeking a solution. Explained my situation to him and heard him muttering under his breath at the tangled mess of load assignments attached to my name. Since I've already been here 24+ hours, there's no reason to not sit here another 10 hours and reset my 70. He's going to try and reschedule the delivery so that I can drop this trailer tomorrow and pick up the loaded trailer that was supposed to be delivered this morning at 6:00am in York, PA. (Which is another thing he'll have to figure out.)jarhead0311, Finfn1372, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Truth be told,if it wasn't for Rob on the weekend, my miles would be next to nothing most weeks,Rob comes through when he can.

They were unable to get the load rescheduled, so I dropped it on the Swift yard in Columbus (since it is the Swift trailer I posted about above) where it is now officially Someone Else's Problem. Rob says they don't really have anything to get me moving today, so looks like I'll be hitting up HQ tomorrow for a load.
