Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. She is finally out of surgery and in recovery resting. She is stable for now. We won’t know truly how the bypasses affected her until she wakes. Still hopeful we have a future together. God is great!

Delivered my Bethpage load a day early. Actually found a spot at Vince Lombardi and spent the night there. Picked up a load of spices in Edison, NJ, delivered 'em to Petersburg this morning, then hooked a trailer full of cracker-and-peanutbutter sandwiches off the yard and schlepped it up to a Dollar Tree DC in Berwick, PA.

Currently parked at the Loves a mile or so away. Driving to Scranton in the morning to pick up an empty dry van, which will be traded in Canandaigua for a preload going to Pittsburgh. Then they'll have to get me back to Richmond because I got hometime this weekend.

Had to see the new safety director when I got to Richmond Thursday over my uptick in unsafe following distance videos. Rough month, letting stress get to me too much out here. Im starting to find it is less stressful to cruise between 62-65 mph. In spite of events earlier this week I still managed the minimum miles I prefer to get this week. Got a PM done and a 34 in and running a Sam’s Club to Lynchburg then drop empty at hill phoenix old stage rd then another Sam’s Club to Ga.

@jarhead0311, first things first, I hope your lady is doing ok on the recuperation from her procedure. We still have her in our thoughts and prayers. God has this.

Now my thoughts on the great announcement about the new,
“Safety Director “ Here’s my thought about that. Being in operations in a trucking company is worse than being a driver. The turnover rate is off the charts for those people. I hope that the new person in charge at least has a CDL, the ones that were there before I left couldn’t even spell CDL, not like the previous ones that were lacking in that department. It’s hard as a driver to really accept someone in that position, like myself, that gave the company 1.4 million accident free, no tickets, safe miles, then get a phone call saying I was caught by the system they put in place for going 5 over in the Mojave Desert at 3am in the morning for 2 miles, so now I’ll loose my safety bonus for the month. The funny part, I had to listen to a kid read me part of the green book over the phone. It was never about safety, all one needs to do is walk through the Richmond yard and see the carnage of the trucks and trailers. But hey, I’m a safety risk with my 4 million plus miles of no accidents and a 25 year old speeding ticket. I hope the new person in charge also comes with better personal aptitude with leading by example. No more boinking your way up the corporate ladder, no more rumors of getting finger banged at the Christmas party out in the parking lot while your husband is inside enjoying the festivities. Maybe they should have invited the drivers to show them how to enjoy the season. It’s a numbers game, as long as Knight/Swift Holdings sees a net profit every quarter, they’ll continue to squeeze the driver for everything they can. Ask me how I know. Between my safety bonus and the monies owed me for a year of 401K match, that came to $4000 dollars. But that’s ok, I’m still able to eat, have a roof over my head, and take a swim in my pool, in return, I was able to take my happy arse some place else, do the same exact job as I gave Abilene for 11 years, get home even more and make $45K more a year. If only they could see past their noses and realize drivers that don’t job hop, give that type of service safely really aren’t looking to move on, especially when all they had was another year before retirement. But it’s all good, the only thing I hope changes is the boinking up the ladder and the finger banging.

I appreciate the prayers, she woke up yesterday for the first time physically weak and tired which is expected after open heart surgery. New safety director is a dude, came from swift. Said he was a driver manager and safety guy there. Way he talked it sounded like he drove a bit but didn’t ask. He was real nice and was concerned about my uptick this month in unsafe following distance videos off my camera and didn’t want to see any accidents because of it. I admit I was frustrated and stressed out so much I was riding closer than I should have. Showed me a recent video of another driver that rear ended a car and caused a chain reaction crash with a 4 second following distance with no out. Didn’t talk down or anything. He did fire a few WM drivers though some deserved it but couple others my DM didn’t agree with. Just wanted to see improvements from me which I have been slowing down lately. Didn’t realize how sensitive the camera system is. Seems no non-sense too. He understands we can’t control others driving and cutting us off but doesn’t want to see blatant tailgating.

The Sam’s Club warehouse in Prince George is closed due to infrastructure issues so that is why we are moving stuff around to different places out of there. Knight driver sat there all day and gave the guard problems and was crying over pulling an AMX trailer that used to be an old Swift trailer.
