Been like that with every company I have worked for. Safety and Operation are always on the opposite side of the road.

Not dispatch. This is Knight's breakdown line. We want something repaired on the truck, we gotta go through them. And there's a whole list of issues where they're only allowed to send us to the nearest Knight/Swift/Abilene terminal to get fixed. Company policy won't let them put in a work order at a truck stop for those issues.

And since I still had a hood-mounted mirror, my side mirror was one of those issues.

Hit my first snow of the season in Indiana today. Thankfully I had a heavy load with the wind blowing but after dropping in Frankfort and coming out empty I had to keep it slow. Thankfully roads just wet. Up to Michigan tomorrow for a live load to West Memphis yard. Hopefully roads be good tomorrow since it is a 1500 appt Ill leave here 0900 to be safe.

My week continues to be cursed.

Truck mirror was repaired Wednesday afternoon. Load assignment for the next day: Hook empty, take it to a Five Below warehouse in Forsyth, GA. Drop empty, hook pre-loaded trailer, head to Richmond yard.

Pre-loaded trailer was scheduled to be ready by 7:00am. I arrived at 7:15am. Trailer was not ready. The warehouse was behind, and trailer wasn't going to be loaded until 8:00pm at the earliest. DM and dispatch crew don't get in until 8:00am. Wasn't able to actually get ahold of anybody at the office until 9:30am due to them being in various meetings and conference calls and such.

New load assignment: Haul empty to a Keurig warehouse in Moore, SC, get live-loaded, deliver load to Dublin, VA today by 11:00am.

Keurig warehouse is FCFS. Pickup window was 7:00am to 5:00pm. Arrived at 3:30pm. Did not get a dock until 5:30pm. It is now 6:00am the next day and I am still here. They didn't finish loading the trailer until 4:30am or so, but they can't print the paperwork. We have to wait until 1st shift arrives in order to actually print the paperwork.

Extreme, I sure hope you are getting paid for all the sufferings you have been put thru. You are a much better man than me.

Truck in the shop to replace the bumper (and maybe the hood, though I ain't holding my breath). Was going to take hometime anyways starting Wednesday for Thanksgiving, so I'm starting a few days early.

Happy Thanksgiving to you folks. I am at home cooking up a big pot of turkey gumbo, and some cornbread dressing and some deviled eggs to go with it.
