I've hooked lotsa broken/damaged trailers. Got 'em fixed up with breakdown. Never had anybody come after me saying it was my fault.

Last Wednesday (which you will note is a week ago as of this writing), I arrived at the Richmond Yard with the intention of taking a week off to recuperate from my kidney stone issues. And the last thing I did before I drove out of the yard to head home was to drop by the shop to tell them that my tractor had two tires that needed looking at. One had a nail in it but was otherwise holding air. The other was visibly underinflated.
And then I went home. And here we are a week later, and I'm feeling in the pink of health. Everything between my rib cage and my hips seems once again to be functioning at normal operating parameters. Hooray.
Got a load assignment to pick up a trailer off the yard and deliver it today to Newport News. Did my pre-trip and discovered that I had a completely flat drive tire. The underinflated tire they were supposed to look at while I was away. They've had a week to get this squared away, but didn't even bother looking at it while I was gone.
So I went to the shop. Told 'em about how I'd brought this to their attention a week ago, and how it still needed fixing, and how I was now under load so it needed fixing right away. It took them a while, but eventually they did get it replaced.
As soon as the tire was fixed, I went and hooked the trailer. And discovered that the trailer had a flat tire too. Took it to the trailer shop. They said they'd be happy to fix it as soon as they got back from lunch.
So the load will be rescheduled for sometime tomorrow, since there's no way I would be able to make it before the end of the receiver's receiving hours. If I'm really lucky, they'll actually tell me my new appointment time.Last edited: Sep 18, 2025

Came out of the house wed to a couple of short runs that added up though off the Wytheville yard then an HP load to savannah that had a 0200 unload time Friday morning and I showed up at 0100 and the guards were really surprised to see me that early in the morning as they couldn’t believe I had a 0200 live unload appt. Crashed on the yard after then a load off that yard to Ms. that I dropped this morning. Deadhead to P&G in Albany, Ga for a live unload Monday morning. Interviewed at SAIA for a P&D gig where I live. 35 an hour and home everyday. Decided to hold off OTR apps. Honestly ready to be home. They said to be patient and terminal manager gave me her number in case I had anymore questions. Stressing me out too much anymore here lately. LTL seems hard to get into with all the times Ive tried, this is the first time Ive been called back.

I have a friend that retired from Saia several years ago. He made a buttload of $.

Got a Hill-Phoenix delivery to Maine. Only the third time I've been to Maine with Abilene. Averaging once every three years!

I'd really like to get a trip deep into the northerny bits of Maine. Somewhere up near the end of I-95. This trip, along with the other two trips I've made up here, have all been in and around Portland.MACK E-6, Friend, Knucklehead and 2 others Thank this.
