He's back. Just a short synopsis of my last trip out here to Oregon. I left early last Friday morning from Richmond with a 4 dropper starting in Pine Bluffs Wyoming and ending in Prineville Oregon. I ran steady and got to Pine Bluffs Wyoming Sunday afternoon. I was able to drop the one cooler I had for my first drop about 2:00pm Sunday. I was done and at the little truck stop there at 3pm. I decided to take my 10 hour break there then leave early in the morning for the 400 mile trip up to Dubois Wyoming. I ran across in the snow and wind to Rawlins then cut up 287/26 to Dubois. I got to the market and was done dropping the 3 coolers off at 4pm. I pulled up the weather for my trip down to Little America and saw they had about 8 inches of snow falling on the 3 sisters starting at the 38mm and had the chain law up. I made it to Little America and shut down. It was 155 miles to South Jordan Utah for my next drop on Tuesday.
I woke up Tuesday morning and showered then was watching the Wyoming roads website. I figured they would drop the chain law at daybreak, and thats exactly what happened. I saw on the web cameras that the road was snow packed from the 38 to the state line. It was a slow go but i was able to make my third drop at 11am. From there it was 689 miles up to Prineville for my last drop. I made it to Boise and took my 10 hour break at the Boise Stage Stop. I was up, and all coffee'd up at 5am Richmond time and had a 385 mile trip across US 20/26. This was 305 miles of nothing but 2 lane, snow covered roads, mountains and complete boredom. I got to my last drop at 10:30 local time and was done at 11:30. On my way over my preplan came across. I have a pick up today in Albany Oregon, drop part of it off in Nampa Idaho tomorrow and have other product put on right there. I'll be dropping this load in our wytheville yard sometime Monday evening, it delivers in Roanoke on Wednesday. I did this same exact load back in October. Right now I'm sitting in Brooks Oregon at the Pilot getting ready to drive the 33 miles to my pick up.
I had to readjust my hometime in the system. I'll be home next Wednesday for a much needed break. I'm about at my limit for time away from the wife, house and dogs.
