Thank you John and Csogbk! Looking forward to starting. This thread was what helped me make up my mind about putting in the application and going to orientation! I really appreciate all of the help you guys have already given information wise and the kind words regarding my incident last week. Makes me feel that much better about the choice I made. I look forward to hopefully meeting any and all of you folks in person! Thanks for the offer of help and advice John! I'm sure I'll be taking you up on that and referring my questions to you lol.

I'm home. I left 2 weeks ago Monday and did 15,200 miles. And my wife wants to know why I slept all day. We got to the WM DC in Pageland SC at 4am yesterday morning for our 6am appointment. They backed us right in to a door but told us it would be more like our delivery time before they would start on us. That was fine with me, we bumped the dock, then went to bed. at 8am we were done and leaving the gate. As we were getting checked out our reload came over the QC. I had to deadhead 60 miles to Florence SC and meet a driver coming from Richmond to swap trailers. His load was going to Fort Myers Fl for 8am this morning. I called the other driver, found out he was just leaving Richmond and would be in Florence about 3pm. This gave us time to shower and relax. At 3:15 he showed up, we switched then left. Ken drove to a Winn Dixie near his house, his wife was waiting for us at 1:30 am. I started my clock at 2am, drove the 305 miles to my drop, was empty at the LL store at 8:30 this morning, then got my deadhead move to go home. I was at my parking spot at 11am, unloaded my belongings into my wife's car, then went and had lunch. She dropped me off at the house, I slept all day, and now I'm waiting for her to get home with some Chinese food.
Birthday tomorrow, the wife is off all weekend, going to see American Sniper tomorrow, going to the Kennedy Space Center tour all day Saturday, then taking my wife out to dinner for our 19th anniversary Saturday night. Here's the fun part, Sunday early evening I need to stay home and drink this crap to flush out my pipes for my colonoscopy at 7am Monday morning. I had one done 10 years ago, the best part of it was the moment the anesthesia took hold and me remembering the little stars floating around and me getting knocked out. What a life I lead, my biggest thrill about a colonoscopy is the anesthesia part, maybe I'll see little flags on the moons surface. -
Sounds like an action packed weekend, JB!

Uh huh huh huh, Beavis, he said packed.

Ok, just got back from seeing American Sniper. I have a question for any of our Veterans out there. At the end of the movie, when Chris Kyle was given his Military Funeral, they had a bunch of his companies bars and stripes attached perfectly to the top of his coffin, what are they? Are they one for each of his 160 kills? I realize this has absolutely nothing to do with trucking, but after seeing this movie, it kinda puts things in perspective. What a movie. My wife and I stopped off at the supermarket after the movie, while standing in line at the checkout counter I noticed all the magazines, the ones with the Kardashians on the cover, Bruce Jenner, Bobbi Kristina Brown, and assorted other totally useless people. Not one cover of our Veterans, physically wounded warriors, or mentally damage Vets. Makes one wonder where our priorities are.
Pigsdofly, mr truckdriver, Hitman and 4 others Thank this. -
