You get people complaining about the room, not enough towels, the remote doesn't work, not enough night life and so on. Then you get people complaining that all you are fed is a Subway sandwich, really? Are people that poor that they need to rely on a new employer to feed them for 2 days? I've heard it all and just laugh, if that's all people have to worry about, it's no wonder this industry has gone down the crapper.

Pete, I haven't heard of anyone hitting the bottle to excess, but that's not saying it hasn't or won't. All one needs to do is read this blog.

well i have seen threads on here of people removed from orientation
because of drinking and just general tom foolery around the motel
i consider every hour of orientation extended job interview
I had plenty of crew members on the boats couldn't behave out of town
thought they were at a frat house in a different city

the industry has gone downhill as the decay of the moral fiber of the country
think what our parents or grandparents would say to the behavior of society over all

Had an older driver that worked for me a few years back and a younger driver asked why its so important to behave during orientation , He looked at the younger driver and said Because its common sense just like not taking a date to your wedding :)

Spot on JohnBoy. Pretty amazing when you think about it. I don't go to many orientations, you know, I like to hold a job for a while, but it always amazed me to see people come in from other jobs without a pot to piss in, no money, bumming smokes, etc. And whine and complain in orientation and then pick apart everything as if the company is asking them to move mountains by actually doing their jobs. And each of these "award winners" all know how to do it better, but they look like they crawled from under a rock and are at their 4th job orientation in 6 months.

Got the call to roll at 7:30 this morning. I was up in Melbourne at noon and loaded by 1:30. Right now I'm parked taking my 10 in Hardeeville SC. I'll drop this load in the Richmond yard about 1 tomorrow afternoon. It delivers in Washington DC Friday at 10am at a convention center. By then I hope to be headed west. I'm parked next to my hero Bman. He's on his way to Daytona for tomorrow. We'll both be leaving at 5am. Nite nite all.

Made it to Hardeeville Wednesday and met Bman. Decided to call it a night there then was up at 4am and rolled out. I was 7 hours from Richmond. About 10 am my reload came over the QC. Drop and hook at Sabra and be in Shelbyville In for 10 am Friday. After dropping my load in the yard then hooking an empty I went and picked up my new load, not without an issue, like them telling us its on one trailer, then spending an hour with them trying to figure out exactly what trailer they loaded it on. After watching them do whatever it is they do, we found the correct trailer, of course everyone involved was blaming someone else, and there's me, just wanting to leave. I just woke up at the Beckley service plaza. Getting ready to head out and make this drop at 10am.
