aaaah my neck of the woods. If you're in the middle of town itself just be careful. There are a couple low clearances not in the atlas. If you are in the industrial park off 295 you have no worries.

Was finished in the Bronx at 12:30 yesterday. Got reload info to reload in Philly last night, was back in Richmond at 2am. My one trip trainee wanted to go to the motel, so I dropped him and his belongings there then went to the yard, dropped my trailer and was in bed at 3am. When I woke up at 8:30 this morning, I looked at my phone and saw 10 missed calls, 15 text messages and an email from my DM Tim.
The email from Tim was a copy and paste email he sent out to his drivers on his board saying goodbye, he quit. I've known this was going to happen, I just didn't think it would be this quick. I fully understand his reasoning, and fully support his decision. He was great as my DM, one of the best I've had over the years, a true professional and a true gentleman. I'm going to miss him, I've had him for a year and a half. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who I have, I was assigned to what I've heard is one right there with Tim, Walter. I've spoken to him on occasion, had to work with him a few times. I spoke with him for a little bit this morning and told him that the only thing I can give him is the same job I've given Abilene since I started here, a good work ethic and a good days job. He smiled and asked me not to change one thing I do. That was pretty nice, we shook hands and then I went to have breakfast with a really cool dude that I was suppose to train, Brian.
I did did have to sit down with the big boss to voice a little displeasure I've had since coming out of the house, my lack of miles and the 2 resets I've had since last Wednesday. Alan was real cool, brought me right into his office and we spoke. He agreed what I have been through since coming off of hometime is not right and promised me it would be addressed. Again, I'm going to say this, this is trucking, poo poo happens, miles drop sometimes, but I'm very fortunate to not have to depend on every last mile I can turn to live. I mentioned to Alan that after I come out of hometime, I leave my wife and home for one thing, work, not babysit freight. My simple reasoning is this, when I leave the house, run me. In 3 weeks it's going to be 2 years here, I enjoy it here, I enjoy the folks I work for and the folks I work with. This is, for me, a great place to call home. It just needs a little adjustment at times.
I was told earlier that I'll have a long run when I get back from Manhattan, that's right, I need to drag a pup trailer with a lifgate and deliver 2 coolers in midtown at 6am. I already got my deadhead move to come back empty, I should be back about 1pm tomorrow. Trucking, gotta love it!Last edited: Mar 19, 2015
