Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Left the house yesterday at 9:30 to drive down to Doral to drop this trailer off at a Publix. I dragged my wife with me, she mentioned the night before she had nothing planned so she decided to take a ride. The last time I did this with her I had a delivery and pick up 100 miles from the house. We left at 7am and got back at midnight. That was the closest we ever got to a divorce. So you can understand my reluctance for having her in the truck with me ever again.

Drove the 62 miles down and found the Publix with no problem, except that these deliveries get harder and harder every time. When it was all said and done, my wife was utterly speechless as I got into the shopping center, maneuvered my way around the back, spotted the trailer where they wanted it, sweated up a storm, cursed a few times, then got the paperwork signed and left. She still is asking me how I do it. I asked her if she thought all I did was drive out west and sit on my ### all day, watching the scenery go by.

We bobtailed back home, on my way back dispatch called to verify I was coming out on Wednesday. I told them yes, then they scheduled me to bobtail to Naples and pick up an empty reefer sitting behind yet another Publix. I'll leave out about 7am in the morning, grab the trailer then go up to Punta Gorda and pick up Jason. Meanwhile, I'll celebrate my wife's birthday with her by not mentioning a word about her age, all 56 years of it.
