I hear ya, JB. I'm glad that I have a local gig, with an employer who actually gives a darn about their employees, and does what they can to keep good ones.
I can't think of an OTR job that I would want these days. Reading all the stories on TTR, about this company screwing people, and how bad that company is, gets me a little disheartened about OTR. I understand it's a give and take, with employers, and employees, and many employees do not understand that. They expect everything to be a cake walk, and it just ain't that way. And many employers feel that drivers are a dime a dozen.
If I had to take an OTR job, I know I could, but I don't know if I would. I might get out of the industry all together. Too many idiot 4 wheelers, traffic sucks, hours are bad, many other truck drivers are clueless, receivers, etc.
Anyway, Happy Labor Day, enjoy it! -

Still swimming......I called in this morning and got another surprised FM on the phone when I told him I'm ready to go to work. Here's how this is going to play out, after sending in a QC message last Tuesday letting everyone know that because I'm getting home 2 days early, I will be ready to head out on Sunday. Called in on Saturday and was told to call in on Monday. Called in this morning and was told to check back this afternoon. So, the way I see it, I won't be leaving until tomorrow, 6 days after getting home, 3 weeks after my 2 week vacation. Like a good puppet that I am, I follow orders very well. If no answer at 3pm, I'll let everyone in Richmond know I'm leaving for the rest of the day on the bike.

Pete, enough with the insults. Here's my first truck, spring ride, no power steering and A/C that only worked when the temp was at or below 75 degrees.
Pipe 40, bigred81, FLATBED and 1 other person Thank this.
