Must have just missed you in Richmond Wednesday, @JohnBoy. I left out of there Wed morning to meet with my trainer in Wytheville for my refresher. We hooked the load in the yard, delivered in Omaha Friday morning, then DH to Markham, IL to rendevous and snag a load from a single driver for the left coast.

This thread is just a wealth of knowledge. I've been skimming through here the past few days and although no company is perfect. It seems that Abilene knows how to keep those wheels turning. @JohnBoy me and you are a lot alike. It seems that you like staying out there and doing those coast to coast runs. Most companies do not send solo drivers out west like they used to in the good Ol days.

Abilene is the same. Most solos do not do the coast to coast runs. Occasionally you can get one, but our John is special in that he trains as well so he needs to keep up with what's happening on the left coast.

    LongHauler875 and JohnBoy Thank this.

Sure, John. I'm sure she already thinks you are since you've been married forever, though.

No, Cranky, no one can take that title from you!

Sometimes I just shake my head... In the training program here at Abilene... Now 2.5 months... I still need to be trained in both the NW and NE... And just where do they send the truck I am training in for five straight weeks... Reno and Southern California... Sure hope they can squeeze both NW/NE into the next two weeks.

And the recruiter said it was a two month program... Four stages two weeks each... With a possible max of three months... lol

Don't get me wrong, still liking the company a lot... But I am beginning to see a pattern... That and running 700 mile days for $85 is a sour pill to swallow too.

Well, let's hope I get at least a glimpse of the NE before they send me solo into the heart of the beast... LOL

    Stay Safe,
    MD
