Ya, I know they were older and as a newbie round these parts I assume it might be highly likely that I might end up in one if they are put back OTR soon.

I'm home. Got here yesterday at 5pm. It was a busy pay period but a good one. I got my load in Forrest City last Sunday morning at 9am and was sitting in Groveport Oh at 10pm that night. I dropped my trailer then took my 10 there. When I woke up Monday morning I checked over my truck while waiting on my new load. I noticed one of my drive tires was low on air. I checked it and it only had 60lbs of air in it. I got my air hose out and filled it up. As I put everything away, I hear air coming out of the tire, further inspection finds a huge spike in the tire. 20 minute later I'm at a tire shop getting a new tire put on via national account. They put a steer tire on in these instances then take it off back in Richmond then put one on with a matching tread depth. I have 225k on my tires so they will match it accordingly.
While getting that taken care of my reload came in. Pick up a loaded trailer there and be in Nashville 3am the next morning. I hooked the trailer then had a nice leisurely drive down to music city. I went right to the receiver, backed in, then was woke up at 3am for the paperwork. I was done by 4 and finished my break right there. At 8am my new assignment came over the QC, head to Cookeville and swap out a driver then bring it to our Wytheville yard and drop it. The load was going to Brooklyn but I had home time scheduled so it went only to there. I was given a deadhead move down to Dalton Ga to reload the next morning. I made it as far as Cleveland TN then went to bed The next morning the QC went off like I've never heard it before. 9 messages which equated to 14 drops. After going over all the details, I went and got loaded. I was done in 40 minutes then headed to the west coast of Florida. I got to Wildwood where I took my 10, got up at 3am, was at drop number 1 at 4am, then proceeded to have the best load ever here at Abilene. I was doe with all 14 drops at 2:30 only drove 198 miles and made as much money as if I went to California. I spent most of the day practicing my backing, like that's what I need in my life, and never once was delayed at a receiver and walked to open the trailer doors 14 times. I even stopped in the middle of all this to have lunch. When I got home at 5pm, that's when it hit me, totally wiped out. It was shower time then put the heat on in the Jacuzzi and spent the next hour in it sleeping. Home till Tuesday then start this nonsense all over again. -
Johnboy...first I love your posts and Thank you. Second, I applied to Abilene Motor Express. I love running to California, it's an addiction running produce in the Southwest. It's like an addiction high chasing produce in the Southwest. So you think I will see alot of West Coast if I ask for it? I am hoping to do it and have a schedule 10 out and 4 home...I am also volunteer Executive Director for a nonprofit I created.
Recruiting offered me a job and I have to go out with a trainer for a week as a refresher which is fine by me. -
