Well, a nekkid grandma at a bikini pool party is a rather disturbing scene for such a fun song...

I am not sure I will be able to listen to that song as I once did... LOL

I just came across this thread and find it very interesting. I have been in and out of driving for 40 years. I'd drive a few years then get the notion "there has to be a better way to make a living. . ." So I'd try something else, then go back to driving. I have driven trucks in the 70's, 80's, 90's and now. I owned a welding and fabrication business for 10 years, until the soup started getting real thin. Then I taught Welding Technology for 1 1/2 years at a community college. I am "Old School" and couldn't deal with the disrespectful youth. (there were homicidal thoughts)

Just over 5 years ago decided I would finish my working years driving. I have no serious complaints. I worked 2 years with a milk company delivering (w/ tractor trailer) to their distribution centers, running only 2 states. I then went to Associated Materials / Alside Division delivering windows all over the east coast and out into TX. I left after 2 1/2 years and came to Abilene in June, 2015. (I have accumulated more than 15 years driving over a period of 40 years.)
In my humble opinion, Abilene is a good company, not a perfect company. I work 2 or 3 weeks at a time. I take whatever I am given and ride, Next Load, ANY Road. That seems to work well for me. Don Jones is my DM and we work well together. As for now, I will plan to stay with Abilene as long as I can pass the DOT Physical.

Good for you, Auctioneer! Yep, I'd say you're old school, but you don't seem to have the saltiness like, ahem, Cranky! I tell folks all the time it ain't perfect, but it's better than many. Make up your own mind about it. I have to stir the pot on occasion just to keep it interesting around here ya know!

Ha you missed the part of me trying to show some sense to a Meltom driver yesterday. I guess I have plenty of saltines

Welcome to the thread... Newer driver here but second career guy... Looking forward to many mostly happy years here at Abilene myself. Hope to run into you one one of the yards someday.

    Stay Safe,
