When I first went to CDL school I used tuition assistance. I only had to pay $300 out of pocket. I went to school while I was still active duty.

I'm using my 9/11 GI Bill and will be on terminal leave during training, and hope to be working before the leave ends.

You could of still used TA since you will still be active duty and saved your gi bill for something else.

Seems Kimberly is shedding a few trucks off her boards.

Ya, I drove until 3am again last night to my first drop this morning... Currently waiting for my 10 to finish so I can head on down the road to Miami for my second and last drop on this trailer. I assume they will just route me back north after that but one never knows as I thought I was going to be in Maryland this morning instead of Florida... LOL

Had it all pre planned to get there on time, maybe grab a shower on the way and then POOF ... Swap out and head south instead.

This sleeping in parking lots is getting old to me... Hoping I don't get parked in here at this Publix before I get to rolling.

Hoping a Truck Stop stay, and more importantly a shower, is in my near future. I am sure my wife would appreciate it when I get home on Thursday ... If and/or when I get home that is. Probably not too many direct drops from FL to NC... lol

    Stay Safe,
    MD

You don't find parking to be an issue at night? Seems all I see are filled truck stops and rest areas but been lucky lately as I have been staying at walmarts and Publix the last several nights. But I might still need your insight to finding parking at night if you don't mind sharing.

    Recent Grad here too.

If you just graduated from a CDL School, they will first place you in their training program at $500/$600/$700 a week depending on which level your are at... Then after you get out of the training you are paid at their standard $0.36/mile with a $0.10 bump for the NE area, and extra pay for extra drops, etc.

If you have any questions, a few of the regulars here are also trainers and might be able to answer questions better than I can but I will do my best too.

And yes, one of the reasons I came here was due to many of the drivers having such positive things to say about the company and generally happy here too. I was fairly sold on the company at that point. Like every company, there are the pros and cons and it's not perfect but head and shoulders above the rest of the options out there.

Hope you sign on and we lol forward to talking more Ruth you too.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

Did you all just get the message about paperwork? So they are wanting us to submit every BOL for everything we drop even if it's not at the final receivers? That is going to flood them with multiple copies... Strange.

I wonder what they are trying to address with this action. From a back office worker back ground I would think that will lead to juggling multiple copies and create more issues but ok... Change is good.

Not sure where in a parking lot we will make the extra copies suggested as needed. No room on the truck for a copy machine... LOL

Do you guys scan from the truck, or do you have to use truck stop scanning? When I was a recruiter we had a computer and scanner we carried with us, so we could save documents and such.

No scanners in truck, but you can use transflo mobile take photo with phone they will receive it right away, or use machine at truck stop.
