I actually prefer camping out at publix and walmarts. Easy parking and already at destination when time to unload, crew will wake u up once there ready for the cases. In every case I resort to truck stops as my last resort, usually long before dark or on weekends when empty. To much happens at TS, less noise at grocery parking lot don't have to worry bout no1 hitting you.

Was being a little sarcastic when I said parking isn't an issue on the night shift. It's not an issue because I'm driving. Getting parked at 7 in the morning is a non issue. Everyone has or is leaving when I'm getting in.

Hey look at that... The thread hit 500 pages!!!
I seem to be stuck in the noonish to 3am schedule... It sucks... Still like three hours to the shipper and then 11+ hours from shipper to receiver. Going to be too tight to drop on time without a swap.
I have been chasing my darn clock all week... Had the last trip all pre planned and ready to implement when we had to swap out and south I went. Got to the first drop in time but then my 10 really goofed with my time. So I am still out of sync. Dropped in the morning at 7am and then it was 7pm when I passed by the same exit after the second drop in Miami. Ugh.
Will be nice to get some home time and reset my starting times once again.

The officer was pretty chill about it... After being told I only had 10 minutes left and I would gladly roll out he took my license and said he would hang out in his car and look busy for a few minutes until I could go on my way... lol
So that, with a 12 hour round trip into Miami with rain and like ten fender benders just made for an awesome day... -

As I read though the various threads on Abilene, there seems to be mixed feelings on the KW 680 vs the Volvo's. Some seem to prefer the Volvo over KW what are the thoughts on those who have driven both?
-
I have never driven a 680, but I do like the Volvos. There are some things I don't like about Volvos though. The headlights are not very bright. You can't adjust the seatbelt height. The seatbelt always goes right across my neck. I know there are one or two other things I don't like but don't remember at the moment.

Well I don't know about everyone else but I've drove for this company a mack, volvo, and freightliner. And the Mack and volvo don't pull very well at all. Loaded or empty you can't tell. You'll still drop gears empty going uphill. But the freightliner on the other hand. I had a 16 freightliner and it would pull a 40k plus load up hill 64mph. It was the best pulling truck I had. And again this is all my opinion. I've never driven a KW so I can't help you with that, but I'd trade my volvo in for a Freightliner yesterday if they would let me.
