Is a fuel filter on these big trucks user replaceable or too much for most drivers to make it worth carrying an extra on the truck?

I would imagine Abilene doesn't want anyone changing them
as to varying degrees of aptitude or ineptitude
    and warranty issues

Well my buddy and I took off late in the day Sunday for the trip east. I'm delivering a truck for a feller I served with on the Stennis to PA. Stopped in Idaho at 1800, then Hardin MT yesterday snow and ice the whole way nearly.

On my Paccar motor theres 2 filters and the fuel water separator that's under pressure. Abilene doesn't want us to touch them, hence for the third service interval in a row, I had a truck stop shop do it.

Yep. According to my sources it was right around thanksgiving. Using company time, personnel and materials to work on his personal stuff (boat, car, etc.). Rumor has it that A Jones flew out there personally to do the deed. Kimberly is there now to train the replacement.

Day 3 of truck delivery in the books, stopped at Mitchell SD. today wasn't as bad, still a lot of snow but more blowing snow than anything. tmp_10119-20151215_1931181180088731.jpg

This afternoon at a gas stop we were there less than 20 min. and the truck was nearly covered. The bottom photo was taken this morning at our hotel. Fun times!

And now we know why Kimberly was shedding drivers off her board. Makes sense now.

It sure is slow around these parts... Everyone must be stuck in snow or something... :-(
