    Not sure.... Good question... I just changed trucks and wasn't thinking about chains... 1313 had them already when I was assigned it... Ugh... Guess I will look after my shower... FYI, it's a bit ripe in the truckers lounge tonight... LOL

    If you don't, just go to any truck stop and get the total dollar amount for them. To be completely compliant, you will need either 6 singles, or 2 doubles and 2 singles, I have 3 bags with 2 singles each. Call into dispatch and they will put the amount on your card. I have only chained once since I've been here. If the chain law is up, wait it out.

    The last couple hours before Portland is along the Columbia River. Scenic yet can be quite windy and slick.

    wlsdraw is correct. If you can time it right, come down Cabbage during the daylight hours, at the bottom of the mountain is mm 216 with the Arrowhead Truckstop/Casino. From about the 160mm to the 25mm runs alongside the Columbia river. That's where it can get a little tricky. At the 17mm is a Loves and TA.

    That's one thing I really liked about Abilene during Orientation. I like that plan and for some reason "chaining up" was skipped over during my CDL School in Florida... LOL ... So I doubt I would actually chain up correctly...

    I assume "Cabbage" the downward side of the mountain range in that area ... on I-84?
