I know this is your first trip out there, but if you maximize your first 3 days of driving and average 700 miles per day, your last day will be done in the daylight. For guidance I leave the yard and get 705 done, then 715, then 710. Remember, you are the captain of that ship, what you say goes, even if they decide to take the load away they will, but at least you did it based in your comfort level.

That was my hope... But yesterday I hit a bit of an issue with my QC ... And today went as expected... Pending and big issues with weather (yes I will be hitting snow for sure) I should be able to hit SLC tomorrow and then onto Portland on Sunday... I am certain something will pop up and it won't be that easy but I will still have a few hours on Monday morning should I need them.

Safety First but I think I should drop on time, if the weather between here and there will be kind to me the next two days.

No worries in that area... I am looking forward to driving the NW and need to get some "snow time" in at some point this winter as I have been lucky so far... But I am quite comfortable shutting it down for issues of safety. The load won't arrive on time if I am sitting in a ditch.

Thanks for the advice... Much appreciated.

Absolutely. I always did this whether I ran a trip to Florida, out west somewhere or anywhere for that matter. I always ran the hell out of the first day(s) of a trip and finished up with an easy one prior to delivery. Running that way I could possibly deliver early, but if not, I'd just spend the free time relaxing in the truckstop up the road from the customer.
