I also realize how important it is as a trainer. I was a trainer for a short period at LC Transportation. I wish you the best of luck. There are good candidates and some not so good. I believe it takes a special individual to train. I am sure you are capable of doing a Great Job. I will see you there.

Knowing John both from here on the board and in person, I'd not hesitate one minute to learn under his tutelage if I were a driver in need of a refresher course.

Thanks for the well wishes all, who know's maybe my first trainee will run the both of us off Sandstone, 7% grade for 5 miles with no brakes, or we'll wind up on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens looking at the first bridge that says 9'6". Then my training days will be over real quick.

Onto a more serious topic, I got home yesterday around 3pm after waking up in St George SC at 4am. I kicked off 3 drops and drove 510 miles, then my wife corralled me to trim all of our palm trees around the house. That wasn't bad at all, in fact I like doing it, I get to use my extension pole that has a mini chain saw on the end of it, the problem was dragging these 26 branches to the front of the house and pile them up for the recycling truck that comes on Saturday mornings. I usually hire this little Honduran dude that runs around our development but he was nowhere to be found so it was on me. With the way I feel this morning I'd rather have driven to Seattle and back, in the snow.

Johnboy like some of whats already said I have followed this thread from the start, and if I needed a trainer and had a choise you would be it. you have took so much time to inform people of your daily work schedule and shared so much info for guys and gals out there looking for change or or a new begining. I live about 20 miles from the Wytheville terminal. that's one reason I was keeping up with what was going on. I am sure you have helped a lot of people and answered a lot of questions.just my 2 cents worth and thanks for sharing all the info.

Wait, I thought 9'6" meant it was 13'6" up there. No wonder I scraped the top of the trailer...lol. They should have alarms like Hampton Roads that got me.

Going pretty well as far as work is concerned. We are getting mostly all of our scheduled loads for the week at the moment.

So are they going to get you a new 870 so you will have some room in the truck for two drivers?

Good luck with your new assignment!
