Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

So today was day 1 of "driving" training. It was fun to be back behind the wheel again. Though my fellow trainees accused me of making it look to easy. All I could say was "when your good, they call you driver!"

 

Leaving at 2am for Groveport. I was down in safety and was put on the training board for February 17th when my wife and I get back from our cruise. While down there I asked for a print out of my miles for last year. I ran a total of 177,750 miles, of which 138,600 were as a solo and 39,150 was as a trainer. This year my goal is 200,000 miles. That will give me right at 80,000 for earnings. Of course if I get fed up with trainees, those numbers and earnings will change.

Sitting at the dock in Glen Burnie MD waiting for 3am to arrive, when I'm done I have a dead head move back to Richmond.

So yeah... JohnBoy... The place in Melboure, FL was the place you mentioned... Some moving company that are also doing conferences and trade shows too.

And that back off the narrow street... Ugh... Tight... It was ugly but I finally found the dock.

Supposed to meet another driver in the morning to swap my Box for his Reefer and then head to Miami to pick up two partial loads heading back north.

Been cloudy, gloomy, and rainy here in Florida all day... Was hoping for a bit of blue sky and sunshine... Maybe tomorrow.

We're there every day, times 3. I actually like it there, drop hook and sleep.
