So, does one start the "split shift" with the 8 hour rest or the two hour break? It still always has to add up to a complete 10 hour break right?

Was watching Street Outlaws last night and noticed that when they filmed it they showed an Abilene Truck and when I rewound to see the number it was 1542. Is that anyone's truck on here? Guess it would be during last summer when it was filmed.

Either way. I'm going the 8 first so it will be daylight when I leave.

Going to call BS on that. The way operations works they know exactly when we arrive. If you "forgot" to send in your empty call, they would have called you checking up on you.

MD: I don't know much about the Split Sleeper Ability, but I have heard at numerous orientations that the split should be taken 8/2 and not 2/8 (for some reason). However, none of those companies fully endorse using the Split provision. I find the split to be convenient and useful at times.

You must do the 8 first and it all has to be sleeper time. The 2 can be off duty.

Not necessarily. I've sat for hours and hours actually being unloaded and never gotten a call, but then again I know where I fall in the priority list. I will say, though, that the fact he was able to actually get fuel should've been a tip off that something wasn't right. You can't get fuel unless under a load.

    JohnBoy Thanks this.
