One more question, does Abilene have opportunities to go local? And if so how long would it take a newbie like me to get? 6 months - 1 year??

 

Yes....plus $50 if you deliver in the city or island.

I thought Stage 1 was not to go passed OK. But maybe things have changed? My first trip out was to be coast to coast but we had to stop just inside OK to swap since I was Stage 1.... Then with the next trainer he had to get permission to run to Reno with me.

It all seemed silly to me.
Run where the frieght is headed.

 

We have local out of Richmond but that's the only place I am aware of... Maybe West Memphis too... They might run a half day out from either city... I have swapped a few loads with them... Meet me 4 hours from Richmond and turn around and get back in 8 hours.

Not sure the details about those jobs... Maybe someone else here can fill in the details.

 

It depends on who the trainer is and what some of the qualifications are of the trainee. This is my 11th trainee, everyone has gone to the west coast on their first trip.

 

They run local out of Wytheville too. I had that job last summer.

 

Lucky SOBs... I was so excited that my first trip out of the box was a coast to coast... Then... Swap... Oh well... I get to do it now so it's all good... It's so beautiful out west...

 

Local as in home daily or take 34 at home weekly?
