He got his CDL A in July (after having driven box and straight for a while) and has run pretty much all of the lower 48, mostly as team up until about two months ago. He is currently driving a 16 Cascadia. I've been reading your threads and think he would love and benefit from your experience...will you be available as a trainer (if he needs one) or do you have a trainee now?

I have a trainee right now. But based on what you said, he would go out with a trainer for a week or two then go solo.

Thanks MacDaddy! He just has to do his physical/drug screen and then jump to it. Sorry he hasn't rung, he's kind of shy about just talking to folks out of the blue like that. Hope your wife heals up quickly and with as little discomfort as possible. I'm trying to set up a sort of tracking system for him to note his loads and stops/miles etc. What do you guys do or recommend? He's been relying on a little handwritten journal at the end of the week which often leads to forgotten or not quite accurate info.

I use the back side of our cover sheet that we have to submit for each load. Works well for me as I normally use one cover sheet anyway so it works well to use it folded in half to keep all the details of each trip order. Then compare each individual sheet to the payroll summary and then file it away as supporting files.

Still refining it and will eventually create a form for the back to just fill in the details.
