Waiting on my truck to get out of the shop, then off to Umatilla Oregon and Kirkland Washington for Monday.

Still no word back yet. Should I be worried? Have a clean record and clean driving record. Only thing is my work history. Worked here and there for retail mostly. Trucking would be a new career for me. Holding out for Abilene because of what I've heard. Western Express is a last resort.

    Johnboy,

I'm located in NE Florida just south of Jacksonville. In your experience with AME how often would you expect I could get home in this area? In other words, how many days out typically?

10-14 days as regular hometime. Also what we call a drive by, a 10 hour break at home under a load.

Thanks. I'm starting a CDL school in a couple of weeks which will graduate at the end of April. AME is one of the companies I'm most interested in.

The website says the training period will vary based on each students needs/abilities I suppose. How long is a typical training period for most CDL school graduates?

There's 3 phases, each one is 1-3 weeks each. Like you read, it's all dependent on how the trainee progresses.
