Totally agree... Thankful here for the guidance and advice of this whole group ... And especially of JB... Glad to have at least three more years to continue to learn more.
Cheers,

So, what transmissions do Abilene's trucks run?

We are in the same boat in terms of love lost for this profession. I'd walk away now, but at 55 there aren't a lot of things I'm qualified to do to earn a decent living (whatever the measure of that it is in 2016).KD5AXG Thanks this.

I'm 47, and driving is the only thing I can do to earn a living now thanks to some physical limitations. I have to do this. I have little choice. God won't let me win PowerBall. LOL

I was told they are all autos. Which is excellent. I can't downshift at all smoothly. I was also told a trainer could pick me up and take me to Richmond for orientation possibly. So there is always that option KD5AXG. Haven't heard anything back yet tho. So I might have to go with my second choice. May or Western Express. Going to call first thing Monday morning.

all automatic transmissions is correct.
-
Western is a BAD choice. Con-way takes students.Bumper Thanks this.

May is mostly 13 speeds. A whole different animal.

Something just hit me, I thought Abilene was a no chain company.
